You are invited to a Cornish Wedding!
A dream-wedding can really come true in Cornwall, which can offer couples a wide range of exciting and unusual venues for those with romantic hearts and an imagination. From a Queen Anne Cornish mansion to a Napoleonic fort, from magnificent views of coastal fishing villages to underground in a Cornish Tin mine, there is a venue for the most discerning of couples! If bride and groom want to arrive by helicopter, host a medieval banquet or simply wriggle their toes in the sand, then Polhawn Fort, near Torpoint, can meet their every need. The fort, which was built in the 1860s, is situated amid the breathtaking scenery of the Rame Head Peninsula. It has a working drawbridge, cannons and spiral staircases and the wedding party can wander down to the beach! The whole of the fort can be hired for a complete weekend and it can cater for parties up to 130 with accommodation for up to twenty people! www.polhawn-fort.com Tel 01752 822864

Henry VIII knew a thing or two about getting married, although he may not have been very successful at it, but he was rather better at building castles. He built Pendennis Castle on the Fal Estuary, which now provides a dramatic backdrop for couples to wed. It boasts exhilarating views and a unique historic atmosphere, the castle has a moat and the keep is available for civil ceremonies and receptions. www.english-heritage.org.uk Tel. 01326 310106

Wedding receptions are not part of the service at Trerice. www.nationaltrust.org.uk or Tel 01637 For those couples wanting to capture the romantic spirit of those famous Cornish lovers, Ross and Demelza Poldark, they can tie the knot underground at the Poldark Tin mine.
